AutoCell—The Self-Organizing WLAN
ثبت نشده
چکیده
By definition, IEEE 802.11 wireless LANS (WLANs) are constantly in flux. There is no way to predict where a particular client will be at any moment, making it equally impossible to predetermine the load on any wireless access point (AP). How will 802.11 Wi-Fi networks running in adjoining offices or on different floors affect one another? Even something as seemingly trivial as rearranging cubicle partitions—or people standing in front of an AP—can affect network conditions.

Reciprocal Linkage between Self-organizing Processes is Sufficient for Self-reproduction and Evolvability
Terrence W. Deacon Department of Anthropology and Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute University of California, Berkeley, CA, USA [email protected] Abstract A simple molecular system (“autocell”) is described consisting of the reciprocal linkage between an autocatalytic cycle and a self-assembling encapsulation process where the molecular constituents for the capsule are products of the autoca...
متن کاملAd hoc Service Grid - A Self-Organizing Infrastructure for Mobile Commerce
The provisioning of location-specific services in medium-sized facilities like shopping malls, hospitals, and trade fares using WLAN access points or cellular phone systems has some drawbacks. It is rather inflexible or results in high running costs. We propose a new self-organizing infrastructure called Ad hoc Service Grid (ASG) that is based on a mobile ad hoc network to resolve these issues....
متن کاملWireless Ad Hoc And sensor netWorks
The continuous miniaturization process of computing devices featuring wireless technologies influences our everyday life. Besides well-established communication paradigms such as GSM or WLAN which are based on a fixed network infrastructure, unattended and self-organizing networks are envisioned. These so-called wireless Wireless Ad Hoc And sensor netWorks section Distributed Computing Group co...
متن کاملTrustworthy Accounting for Wireless LAN Sharing Communities
The Peer-to-Peer Wireless Network Confederation (P2PWNC) is designed to be an open self-organizing Wireless LAN (WLAN) roaming association where users from one WLAN can access all other WLANs belonging to the same P2PWNC. Unlike other WLAN roaming schemes, P2PWNC is open to all types of WLANs and particularly to residential networks owned by individual householders. Without an identity certifyi...
متن کاملKohonen Self Organizing for Automatic Identification of Cartographic Objects
Automatic identification and localization of cartographic objects in aerial and satellite images have gained increasing attention in recent years in digital photogrammetry and remote sensing. Although the automatic extraction of man made objects in essence is still an unresolved issue, the man made objects can be extracted from aerial photos and satellite images. Recently, the high-resolution s...
